Festival of Trees

Today, we met the Jenn, Damian and Leo at the Festival of Trees at the Timonium Fairgrounds.  This is 3 day event that apparently draws huge crowds.  We went shortly after it opened this morning, and it wasn't too crowded, but there was a stream of people coming in as we were leaving.

The Festival of Trees, on the whole, is geared towards kids.  There's a large model train display and an entire 3rd of the place is games and rides.  There was also a performance stage in the middle third of the place, and we watched a magic/circus show.  There were decorated Christmas trees throughout the place available for sale (there were some very creative theme trees) and crafts vendors everywhere.

DJ got on a carousel for the first time - at his request!  He got on it another 3 times after that.  While we were on it, he was saying, "Going up!  Going down!" as the horse he was on went up and down.  He also got on a "train" ride and although he wanted to do it again, the line was outrageous for it.  So we got lunch instead.  :-)

DJ did a lot of walking and what really surprised us was when he and Leo both sat and actually watched a modern dance interpretation of the Mother Goose Rhymes.  Granted, it was only about 15 minutes, but it was a whole lot longer than we expected (30 seconds).

We got home in time for naps.  DJ didn't want to nap at first, and ended up waking up Elektra.  DJ eventually has since gone to sleep but Elektra is WIDE awake.  Someone is going to bed early!
