As reported earlier, DJ had climbed out of his crib on Saturday morning and wandered into the living room to play. When it was time for his nap that afternoon, we put DJ in his crib again, but left the rail down. We also made sure that his door was fully latched. DJ didn't end up napping but he not only stayed in his crib but he also pulled the rail up! Needless to say, I was really confused.
Saturday night, again, we put him in his crib and left the rail down. He slept great and in the morning, I heard him when he woke up over the baby monitor. Once again, when we went in to get him, the crib rail was pulled up and DJ was still in it.
Last night, same thing. This morning, he woke up at 5:45AM unhappy. So I went in there, calmed him down, and noted that the crib rail was still down. I left the room to get ready for work and when I went back in, not only was the crib rail up, but he was half over it playing with the window blind.
Clearly, he likes his crib. And clearly, he's Type A in that the crib rail needs to be as usual, in it's place... pulled up. But also clearly, he wants his freedom. We just might have to put him in the toddler bed if this keeps up!
