Today for nap, he was very excited and I thought I might have some trouble settling him down, but he really did settle down and go to sleep after about 15 minutes. I was really surprised it was that fast, but I'd been running him around at the Carroll Manor Elementary School playground earlier, and I guess that had the effect I'd hoped. I had to hold his hands down only about 10 minutes, and the other 5 I spent making sure he was really asleep before I left.
At 4:15PM, we heard wailing. We walked into his room, expecting to find a disaster, but found DJ on the floor really upset. When we finally calmed him down enough to talk to us, he said he fell out of the bed. This is possible as I didn't tuck him into the bed for his nap, as I had last night for bedtime.
When he was calm, I got the progress board down and showed it to him. I told him that because he'd been so good about staying in the bed before nap that he would get to put a car magnet on the board. He got lots of praise for this, of course. He picked out a car, but didn't seem to want to put it on the board. So Daddy helped him.
He hung out with Daddy for nearly 45 minutes, but now he seems to be awake and himself. Hopefully it gets easier from here....
