On Tuesday, I was home with the kids because Eleanor was having some medical procedures done. We drove out to Bel Air to have their portraits taken by Kathie Jones, the woman who took their portraits last year. DJ talked non-stop on the way out there and while we were there. Neither child napped that afternoon, and both went to bed early because of it.
Yesterday morning, as I'm driving DJ to Eleanor's, I hear from the back seat,
"See sky, Momma?"
"Do you see the sky, DJ?"
"Ya!"
Pause
"See grass, Momma?"
"Do you see the grass, DJ?"
"Ya!"
Pause
"See sheep, Momma?"
"Did you see the sheep, DJ?" (we pass a field of sheep)
"Ya!"
And it went on... "Are we going under trees... ya!", "Trash cans fall over... ya!", "Going over bridge... ya!", "See cars coming... ya!" all the way to Eleanor's.
The "ya!" is brand new... we've been trying to get him to say any form of "yes" as a word for 6 months now, and finally, he's saying it! Apparently, at daycare that day, he took it a step further and said "ya sure!"
So overnight, he decided to start verbally confirming with words! Yay DJ!
