Yesterday morning, I walked into DJ's room to get him out of bed when he asked for "white binky".
I replied, "Where's you're blue binky?"
He says, "Right there," and points to the crib. Sure enough there was blue binky.
"Here you go," I say as I hand it to him.
"Broken!"
"What? Where?"
"Right there," he says, and points to the part that he chews/sucks on.
Sure enough, that binky was chewed right in half. Then I started to panic... did he swallow it after he bit it off? I started to overturn everything in his crib, look on the floor and to my enormous relief, I found the other half.
"Yep, you're right, DJ. Binky is broken."
When it was time for bed last night, I forwarned DJ that Binky was broken while I was getting him ready for bed. He seemed to think about that and when it was time to go to bed, he didn't even ask for Binky.
And he slept all night.
Maybe, just maybe, the days of Binky are done for DJ. If so, I hope that breaking Elektra of the thumb habit will be just as easy.
